Consciousness and the Future of Evolution

HC AUD49.95
Within this book, Steve McIntosh
has taken on a huge subject - Integral Consciousness.
Started in 2001 he engaged with many groups
to fine tune his message and present this leading
edge material and its ongoing development in
an easy to digest style.
Throughout man's history, time
has been grouped into epoch's - renaissance,
modernism and pre modernism, each with their
own level of consciousness. The argument offered
by McIntosh is that we are evolving into a new
epoch named as the Integral Worldview.
In the first pages McIntosh defines
the Integral worldview as it stands today and
attributes warmly the core founders, Clare.
W. Graves and Ken Wilber. He builds his definition
into a usable integral philosophy intertwining
this with his own work. He then carries forward
the best of the previous worldviews while pruning
away the worst.
As McIntosh has lived his life
through an Integral perspective he has observed
and experienced extra energy for life, additional
compassion for others, deeper personal power
and strategic wisdom. His promise is that as
you read and consider the ideas your consciousness
will rise and you will experience similar benefits.
After defining integral philosophy/worldview
he describes in much detail his ongoing evolvement
and provides answers to the questions of those
who maybe skeptical about some of the integral
philosophy/worldview claims.
He offers us an evolution in the
quality and quantity of connections between
people. This brings shared meanings, experiences,
agreements, relationships and groups of relationships.
Concepts offered in the book are
layered and structured well with good definitions
and explanations. The debates that arise within
the book represent both sides by providing strong
information and references.
This book helped me further
understand and to clarify the concept of cultural
development and consciousness, both individually
and collectively, with this quote striking me
deeply. " The transformation we seek must
be born from evolution not revolution if it
is to be sustainable."
