If you are at all interested in
sustainable living then this is an eco-documentary
for you. Maverick architect Michael Reynolds
has devoted his working life to designing and
constructing buildings from recyclable material
and totally self-sufficient energy management.
As the demand for his 'earthship
biotecture' increased, so did the interest of
the authorities and despite Michael having to
endure bureaucratic red tape his passion never
falters. Watching the painfully slow and bureaucratic
process he is forced to follow you begin to
wonder if the elected officials will ever get
beyond the limited and heavily supported traditional
construction and planning industry.
It is not until after Reynolds
and his team have done some remarkable construction
in Indonesia after the 2004 Tsunami that the
US state officials begin to see the validity
of Reynolds work. Progress is made with what
seems senseless compromise from Reynolds.
