The Spontaneous Evolution
Bruce Lipton and Steve Bhaerman
HC AUD34.95

|
|
We've all heard stories of people
who've experienced seemingly miraculous recoveries
from illness, but can the same thing happen for
our world? According to pioneering biologist Bruce
H. Lipton, it's not only possible, it's already
occurring.
In Spontaneous Evolution, this world-renowned
expert in the emerging science of epigenetics
reveals how our changing understanding of biology
will help us navigate this turbulent period in
our planet's history and how each of us can participate
in this global shift.
In collaboration with political philosopher Steve
Bhaerman, Dr. Lipton invites readers to reconsider:
the "unquestionable" pillars of biology,
including random evolution, survival of the fittest,
and the role of DNA; the relationship between
mind and matter; how our beliefs about nature
and human nature shape our politics, culture,
and individual lives; and how each of us can become
planetary "stem cells" supporting the
health and growth of our world.
By questioning the old beliefs that
got us to where we are today and keep us stuck
in the status quo, we can trigger the spontaneous
evolution of our species that will usher in a
brighter future.

Building a Love That
Lasts
Dr Charles and Dr Elizabeth
Schmitz
PB AUD27.95

|
|
In their introduction the authors
state that their own marriage is in its 43rd year
pretty amazing given that the US has divorce rates
are estimated to be 50%. So as part of their clinical
practice they began a 25-year research project.
They believed that whilst there
had been hundred's of books written on relationship
success, these had been written from the perspective
of studying failed relationships in order to predict
what success looks like. So they took the opposite
view, why not understand what makes a successful
marriage.
Research participants needed to
have been married for 30 years or more and when
asked, "How would you rate the overall happiness
of your marriage? the answer needed to be either
9 or 10. They gathered more than 15,000 years
of collective wisdom from happy and successful
couples across all faiths, ages and ethnicity.
When bringing all this material
together they discovered seven characteristics
present in all successful marriages. As well as
outlining the seven secrets you can answer rhe
marriage quiz and work through a seven-week program
to develop ongoing sharing in your marriage.

Your Brain at Work
David Rock
PB AUD29.95

|
|
We live in a wonderful age where
the working of the brain is the subject of so
much research and analysis.
David Rock has taken the research
material and the mentoring of neuroscientist,
Dr. Jeffrey M. Schwartz to build up his thesis
on how the brain operates in a work environment.
He builds his theory by telling
the story of Emily and Paul, the parents of two
young children. Emily is a newly promoted executive
in a large corporation and Paul has his own business
as a consultant.
Their lives, like ours, are filled
with a blizzard of emails, phone calls, meetings,
projects, proposal's and plans. As you read you
are taken inside the brains of Emily and Paul
as they attempt to sort the vast quantities of
information they're presented with and figure
out how to prioritise, organise and act on it.
David explains what is going on
in the brain at each step, what parts of the brain
are working and how to maximise its amazing capacity.
With each scenario David describes how it could
have been different when the workings of the brain
are considered.

often make you laugh and you quickly begin to
realise that we are not necessarily the smartest
species on earth!
Trisha first became aware of her
special relationship to animals from a young age.
She talks in her prologue about
how she could 'see' through the eyes of animals
and communicate with them as if she was one.
