The Anxious Brain
Margaret Wehrenberg
HC AUD43.00

|
|
Anxiety is a prevalent problem across
most western cultures. It produces a range of
symptoms and comes in many forms, from panic disorder,
generalized anxiety and a variety of phobias.
The authors of this book have demystified
the complexity by integrating psychotherapeutic
treatment with implications from recent brain
research to offer a simple, practical guide to
anxiety assessment, identification and treatment.
You will be taken through the reasons
why your clients may be anxious and what methods
work for different symptom sets. A concise overview
of the brain in presented in the first two chapters.

Enlightened Eccentrics
Robert Spillane
PB AUD25.00

|
|
Robert Spillane authored this book
from a series of lectures he delivered to the
Art Gallery Society of NSW.
The intention of that series was
to introduce the philosophers of the Enlightenment
and their predecessors in the seventeenth century.
He calls them enlightened because
they promoted the use of reason in public affairs,
they disseminated subversive views, which put
their liberty and lives at risk and they were
united in their belief that reason rather than
revelation is the primary source of authority.
Spillane states that he does not
necessarily share the view of these eccentrics
but he does have respect and admiration for their
courage in speaking the truth.

The Crystal Experience
Judy Hall
PB and CD AUD30.00

|
|
By understanding how the brain works,
coaches can better tailor their language, strategies
and goals to be in alignment with their clients
'hard wired' way of thinking.
This book presents tools and methodologies
that can be employed by novice and experienced
coaches in order to create an effective relationship
with their client.
The material includes: a succinct
overview of the major scientific and theoretical
foundations for coaching and their implications
for practice; how the language of coaching (setting
goals, making connections, becoming more aware,
seeking breakthrough and taking action) parallels
what neuroscientists tell us about how the brain
works and neuroscience as a natural platform for
the ongoing development of coaching.
